Сапунова Александра, группа 409/1, ИИЯ пишет о Петеленковой Марии Геннадьевне, кандидате филологических наук, доценте кафедры немецкого языка:
Я бы хотела рассказать о своём опыте изучения немецкого языка с Петеленковой Марией Геннадьевной, кандидатом филологических наук, доцентом кафедры немецкого языка. С самого первого дня изучения немецкого языка, я поняла, что мне будет совсем непросто: сложная грамматика, рода существительных, падежи – всё это путалось у меня в голове, и в определённый момент мне начало казаться, что я никогда не смогу овладеть вторым иностранным языком. Тем не менее, в сентябре 2022 года немецкий язык в моей группе начала преподавать Мария Геннадьевна Петеленкова, и я вдруг поняла, что изучение этого языка не только больше не пугает меня, но и начинает нравиться.
К каждому занятию Мария Геннадьевна подготавливает увлекательные задания, игры и видеоролики, поэтому после каждой пары я чувствую, что уровень владения немецким языком растет. Отдельно хочется отметить дискуссии, которые она проводит в рамках изучения той или иной темы, ведь они позволяют научиться грамотно выражать свои мысли на немецком языке, а также выявить пробелы в знаниях. Мария Геннадьевна очень добрый и открытый человек. Она всегда готова прийти на помощь, объяснить не один раз сложные и непонятные темы, грамотно указать на ошибки. Я очень благодарна Марии Геннадьевне за знания, приобретённые в этом учебном году, и мне бы очень хотелось и дальше изучать немецкий язык именно с этим преподавателем.

Throughout their educational journey, students come across several professors. Some may leave a lasting impact while others may not be as memorable. However, there are always a few professors that we admire, respect, and remain attached to for the rest of our lives. I can undoubtedly say that I have had the privilege of learning from many remarkable professors. But there is one professor who stands out among them all. The one that I would consider my favourite professor – someone who truly inspires and motivates me to reach my potential.
The first foreign language I learnt was English. I have always liked it as it is simple yet so outstanding, especially considering that so many incredibly useful information resources are in English as well as the media and art. So, obviously I have never thought that any language would top it.
At the time, apart from English, I have only tried to learn German. It was at school and, frankly speaking, did not turn out to be my biggest progress. I decided to give it a chance while choosing an extra language at the university I applied to as I felt some sort of connection to it which I did not have to French and Spanish. I was beyond thrilled to start my studies partially because of German and what a disappointment it was for me to find out during my first classes that I do not like it! It was not that the classes were extremely boring although I would not say they brought me much excitement either. It was that the materials were outdated, the information was unstructured, and it was just confusing in general. So, I quickly gave up my passion to learn German and just went with the flow, not trying too hard and just doing what was expected of me to get a good mark.
The professor was changed at my third year of studies. By that time, I had already lost all interest in German and did not think that anything would revive it – and I was wrong!
My current German professor is Petelenkova Marya Gennadyevna and she is by far one of the best teachers I have ever had. With her help, I have finally regained my passion for German and started putting in the effort to study better. Marya Gennadyevna is an excellent and skilled professor who tries to engage every single student in the work process and who truly cares about her students’ progress and is always eager to help. As a future teacher myself, I am not only thankful to Marya Gennadyevna for the knowledge she has gifted me, but also grateful to witness her work process to take advice for my future teaching.
In conclusion, having a favourite professor is a standout experience that shapes the learning years of a student. My favourite professor has demonstrated such a dedication to teaching that it has inspired me throughout my academic journey. Her genius teaching techniques and profound knowledge of the subject have enriched my learning experience.
